Earth Trek’s scratch free Webcam HUB
Earth Trek announced their new webcam as the “hottest webcam”, and apart from the design we can’t see anything so special about it. The Honk Kong based company are trying to promote this webcam as scratch free.
As you can see from the non-existent fixing device it’s practically impossible to scratch your monitor while installing the webcam. A funny statement from Earth Trek says “Different from general webcams, this desktopversion can avoid scratches on your LCD screen”
The only problem with this statement is that there’s no way to fix this webcam on your LCD as the base of the webcam is about 3 times thicker than your LCD monitor, so of course you can’t scratch it. In conclusion we can say that this webcam was meant for desktop usage, and should be setup besides the monitor on your desk.
From a specification perspective Earth Trek’s webcam features a metal sliding cover to protect the camera, an auto focus, auto brightness, snap button, and a 2 port USB Hub. The image quality of 640×480 (VGA) pixels is provided by a 1.3 Mpix sensor.
